Spher

Women's safety and community app

Spher is a free women-only space for community, friendship, support, and real conversations. Women can join groups, talk openly, and comment anonymously. It stands out by combining community, education, and safety that is always free: alarm button, recording, live location sharing, smartwatch-triggered alarms, geofenced checkups, and a map where women can tag risky areas and alert others in real time. Plus articles, blog posts, and stories women actually want to read.

Top comment

I built Spher because women should not have to choose between connection and safety. Many platforms help people meet, but few are designed around how women actually experience the world: wanting community, privacy, support, and backup when something feels wrong. At first, Spher was focused on safety. But the more we listened to women, the clearer it became: safety is not only an emergency button. It is having a trusted circle, being able to speak anonymously, learning from real stories, and seeing what areas others flag. Spher also gives women collective power. For instance, when many women report unsafe areas, that data can push municipalities, venues, and communities to act. So Spher evolved into a free women-only community with built-in safety and a bigger mission: help women connect freely, move confidently, and change society together.

Who hunted Spher?

Spher was hunted by Assiye Süer. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
