Howdy! If you didn't know there's a maximum number of spaces you can have in macOS, maybe you don't need this product—but I find I lose track by the time I hit 5 or 10 different spaces, a dozen different projects going on....

Mission Control shows "Desktop 1, Desktop 2…", and trying to recognize which one is which based on a window configuration is pretty much luck.

spacetags puts a small colored label on each Space. Switch Spaces and the right label is there; open Mission Control and every Space thumbnail wears its name. It sits on top of the native Spaces system — no tiling window manager, no new way of working. Just actually knowing what you left where and how to get back to it.

It's a one-time $4.99 with a 14-day trial, no card. I'd love to hear how you use Spaces, and what would make this more useful.

It's 16, btw—after 16 spaces you're tapped out, except for full-screen —

Who hunted spacetags?

spacetags was hunted by Kaolin Fire. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
