SoundCoach

An AI sound engineer in your pocket for live audio

Most sound apps are just a dB meter or a spectrum analyzer. SoundCoach goes further: describe the problem in plain words — "vocals sound muddy", "too much echo" — and AI turns it into concrete EQ, compressor & gate settings, explained simply. Plus a real-time dB meter, full-screen 31-band RTA, and feedback detection. All audio runs on-device; only numbers are sent. Built for the millions who run sound with no training.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm William, and SoundCoach is my first iOS app. The idea came from a problem I kept seeing: at churches and small events, the person running sound is almost always a volunteer with no formal training. They want to serve well, but EQ, compression and feedback feel like a foreign language. So I built the coach I wish they had: 🎚️ Real-time dB meter + full-screen 31-band spectrum (RTA) ⚠️ Feedback detection that warns you on the exact frequency before it squeals 🤖 The magic part: you describe the problem the way you hear it — "vocals sound muddy", "too boomy", "too much echo" — and AI translates it into concrete, prioritized settings (which frequency to EQ, with exact gain & Q, how to set the compressor/gate), each with a plain-language explanation. A few decisions I'm proud of: • The audio never leaves your phone — all DSP (FFT, resonance & RT60 detection) runs on-device. Only numeric analysis is sent for the AI step. • Built with SwiftUI, on-device Accelerate/vDSP, Firebase, and Claude for the recommendations. It's free to try, with a Pro subscription for unlimited AI recommendations. I'd love your feedback — especially from anyone who's ever stood behind a mixing console. What would make this genuinely useful for you? 🙏 📲 https://apps.apple.com/app/id678...

Who hunted SoundCoach?

SoundCoach was hunted by William Vega. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
