I'm Kaan, one of the co-founders of SORSR, and I wanted to share a bit of the story behind why we built this.
My co-founders spent years in investment banking doing M&A deal sourcing the hard way, and if you've ever worked in an investment bank or advisory firm, you know exactly what that looks like: hours on Google, LinkedIn, and industry databases stitching together target lists that are outdated the moment you finish them. Paying thousands for database subscriptions that only cover companies large enough to have ever filed something or raised a round. Manually clicking through hundreds of company websites trying to figure out if a business is even relevant. Exporting into spreadsheets, deduplicating, color-coding tiers, tracking outreach in a shared Excel file that's always out of date. Then writing cold emails one by one, trying to make each one sound personal when you have 200 targets to contact.
And the worst part? The most interesting acquisition targets, the founder-owned, sub-$20M revenue businesses that have never raised capital, never appeared in a database, never been written about, were almost impossible to find systematically.
