I'm Berthe, one of the people behind sommelia. We built this because picking wine online is usually a bad experience, either you already know exactly what you want, or you're stuck scrolling through hundreds of nearly-identical bottles with no real guidance and no one to ask.
sommelia is an AI sommelier you can just talk to. Tell it what you're eating, who you're trying to impress, or what mood you're in, and it recommends a specific bottle from our catalog, sourced ourselves, not mass-market brands you'll find everywhere else.
We're a small Zurich-based team, and this started as something we genuinely needed ourselves, I use it most weeks to figure out what to bring to a dinner party or pair with whatever's actually in the fridge. It's not a gimmick bolted onto a normal wine shop; the chat is the whole point.
We're still early and actively shaping the roadmap around real usage, so I'd love for you to try a few prompts and tell us honestly what it gets right or wrong. Weird prompts welcome, that's usually where we learn the most.
