SOLD CUT
Your multicam podcast, cut inside DaVinci Resolve on a Mac
SOLD CUT syncs every camera and mic from the raw folder, cuts to whoever speaks and builds the edit on a copy of your DaVinci Resolve Studio timeline. Then subtitles, YouTube titles, react layouts, jump cuts and clips. Mac app, €150 once.
Hi Product Hunt! We're SOLD OUT MEDIA, a podcast production studio in Romania, and we edit our multicam episodes in DaVinci Resolve. Syncing five cameras and switching angles by hand was the slowest part of every episode, so over the years we wrote down the rules our editors follow and turned them into tools for our own studio. SOLD CUT is those tools as one Mac app.
How it works: point it at the folder of raw files. It syncs every camera and microphone (by sound or timecode), builds the Resolve project and cuts to whoever is speaking, from each person's own mic. Every angle stays on its own track under the cut, and it always writes a new copy, so your timeline is never touched. You review and fix shots by hand, like any edit.
We measured it against Resolve's built-in Multicam SmartSwitch on our 78-minute, five-camera episode: the person talking was on screen 93.5% of the time with SOLD CUT and 72–87% with SmartSwitch, and the analysis took 4 seconds instead of 46 minutes. Method and a side-by-side video: https://soldcut.app/smartswitch-...
What you need: an Apple Silicon Mac (macOS 14+) and DaVinci Resolve Studio 19.1 or later (the free Resolve can't be controlled by other apps). It's €150 once for two Macs, and the trial is 3 days with every feature and 100 AI credits.
I'd love honest feedback, especially from people who edit podcasts in Resolve: what would stop you from using it?
