Social Cleanup
Bulk-delete your old social media posts, privately
Social Cleanup finds your old Reddit, X/Twitter and Facebook posts, lets you review every one, saves a backup, then deletes them in bulk by date range. What makes it different: it runs 100% in your browser. No servers, no accounts, no passwords, no tracking, and it erases its list of your posts when it's done. For Instagram, LinkedIn and Threads it guides you through each site's own tools instead. Free and open source.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built Social Cleanup after realising how much old stuff I'd posted over the years, right as I started job hunting. Recruiters scroll back further than you'd think, and deleting posts one by one is painful.
How it works:
1️⃣ Pick an account (Reddit, X/Twitter or Facebook)
2️⃣ Choose how far back: older than 1, 3 or 5 years, or exact dates
3️⃣ Review everything it finds, keep what you love
4️⃣ It saves a backup to your computer, then deletes the rest in the background
For Instagram, LinkedIn and Threads, which don't allow tools to delete posts safely, it walks you through each site's own tools with a step-by-step checklist instead.
Privacy was the #1 priority:
🔒 Runs entirely in your browser. No servers, no accounts, no tracking
🔑 Never asks for your password
🧹 Erases its list of your posts as soon as it's done
📖 Fully open source, so you can check every line
It's free. I'd love your feedback: which platform should I add next, and what would make it more useful for you?

Who hunted Social Cleanup?
Social Cleanup was hunted by Swe3we. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
