Top comment

I built SmoothTube because I wanted YouTube to feel like it actually belonged on Windows. A lot of the development was AI-assisted and highly iterative, basically what people now call vibe coding but the goal was never just to generate something quickly. I kept refining it, testing ideas, fixing weird edge cases, and shaping it into something I genuinely wanted to use myself. SmoothTube has a native Windows 11 interface with subscriptions, search, continue watching, comments, playback controls, and more. It started as a personal project and slowly turned into something I felt was worth putting out into the world. Would genuinely love to hear what you think, especially what you’d want improved or added next.

Who hunted SmoothTube?

SmoothTube was hunted by Danie Joel. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
