I built SmartPaste because I was tired of pasting ugly JSON, raw links, and PDF text full of broken line breaks — and always having to run it through some other tool to clean it up first.
SmartPaste fixes it at paste time, not before. Copy like you always do (Ctrl+C); when you press Ctrl+Shift+V, it shows you every transform available for whatever's on your clipboard:
🎨 CSS colors → convert between hex/rgb/hsl
📋 JSON → format or minify
🔗 URLs → ready-made Markdown link
📊 CSV → Markdown table
🌐 HTML → clean Markdown (real DOM parser, not regex)
📄 Text from a PDF → fixes broken line breaks and hyphenation
More than one recommendation, too — every applicable transform shows up, and you can search everything you've copied before, right from the same popup.
A few things I cared about getting right:
100% local — no cloud, no account, no telemetry. The source is public on GitHub, so that's verifiable, not just a claim.
Respects sensitive data copied from password managers like Bitwarden/1Password — it never ends up in history.
UI available in English, Italian, and Spanish.
Being upfront about scope and licensing: it's Windows-only for now. The source is public under the PolyForm Noncommercial license — free to read, use, and modify for personal use; commercial use needs a separate license.
