Smart Photo Auto-Rotate
Automatically rotate scanned photos in bulk on Windows.
Smart Photo Auto-Rotate is a Windows desktop utility that automatically detects and corrects sideways and upside-down photos across an entire folder. It’s especially useful for scanned photos that lack reliable EXIF orientation data. Each image is analyzed individually, confident rotations are corrected automatically, and uncertain photos are left unchanged for review. JPEG rotation is performed with no quality loss, and all processing stays on your computer.
I built Smart Photo Auto-Rotate after running into the same problem over and over in my photo digitization business: large folders of scanned photos with a mix of upright, sideways, and upside-down images.
Scanned photos often don’t have useful EXIF orientation data, so fixing them manually can get tedious fast. I wanted something simple that could look at each image individually, rotate the confident ones automatically, and leave uncertain photos alone for review.
I’d love to hear how other photographers, archivists, and people working with large photo collections handle this problem — and what would make the tool more useful for you.
