Slopguard

Hide AI slop on LinkedIn, X, Reddit & Google — on-device

Your feeds are drowning in AI slop — engagement bait, hustle-bro posts, ChatGPT prose, and Google AI Overviews you never asked for. Slopguard hides all of it on LinkedIn, X, Reddit & Google using AI that runs entirely on your device.

Hi guys, this idea has been stuck in my head since Google announced Gemini Nano in the browser, and now that it's out of beta and available on every Chrome machine, I'm ready to show you my product. I fucking hate the LinkedIn feed, and I also hate the spam comments and bot farms on Reddit, so I made a tool to hide them. A small Chrome extension built specifically for the official Chrome build, where Gemini Nano categorizes posts and comments on social networks and decides whether to hide them or not. Nano isn't perfect yet. It misses some stuff and occasionally overthinks the obvious cases — I was a bit bummed at first. So I paired it with a small set of fast rule-based detectors to catch the easy slop instantly, and let the model handle the borderline judgment calls. It detect not even 70% of slop now, but it is better than nothing, try it yourself. It's a solid combo today, and honestly I'm betting it only gets better — Google keeps improving these on-device models, and my product improves right along with them. Right now it covers LinkedIn, X and Reddit, and it also strips those Google AI Overviews nobody asked for. Three modes (hide / blur / just mark it), and you can even point it at any other site with a visual picker. It's free - and I'd genuinely love to hear where it gets things wrong so I can tune it.
