Slidekit
Build interactive e-learning with an AI co-author
> Slidekit is a desktop editor for interactive e-learning on Mac and Windows: a timeline, layers, states, triggers and quizzes, plus an AI assistant that turns your documents into slides, quizzes and exercises. Export to SCORM, cmi5 or xAPI.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm the maker of Slidekit. I've been around instructional design for a while, and I wanted a modern, native tool for building interactive courses on both Mac and Windows, so I built one.
What it does
- Slide-based authoring with a timeline, layers, object states, triggers with conditions and variables, masters and layouts.
- Quizzes: nine question types, question banks, passing scores, attempts and timers, results slides and certificates.
- Export to SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, cmi5, xAPI or a web page. The player inside your courses is MIT-licensed, so your courses are yours.
The AI part (optional)
An assistant sits beside the slide. Attach a Word or PowerPoint file (or a PDF, with Claude) and it proposes a course section, then builds it after you say yes. It can lay a slide out in your course's own colors and fonts, design interactive exercises from states and triggers, write narration scripts, or add triggers you describe in plain words. It works through your own Claude Code or Codex, or your company's OpenAI-compatible model, and every change is one undo step.
Good to know
It's a free beta: no account, works offline, and your files stay on your computer unless you use the AI. The installers aren't code-signed yet, so macOS or Windows will warn you once; the steps are in the README.
I'd love your honest feedback, especially from people who build courses for an LMS: where did you get stuck, and what's missing before you'd use it for real work?
Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
