SleepWalk
Close the lid. Let the agent finish.
SleepWalk is a native macOS menu bar app for bounded, closed-lid sessions while coding agents, builds, tests, downloads, or local servers finish. Set a time limit, battery floor, and temperature limit before you walk away. Its optional CLI and agent skill let Codex, Claude Code, and other agents start and stop sessions themselves. SleepWalk restores normal sleep when the session ends and never reads your prompts, code, files, or terminal output.

Hey Product Hunt! As a Sotfware Engineer, I was tired that each time I leave the office, I have to choose between: - interrupting my coding agent mid-run - carrying my MacBook around with the lid open, looking like a weirdo - leaving pmset or amphetamine running and hoping I remembered to turn it off So I built SleepWalk. SleepWalk is a native macOS menu bar app for bounded closed-lid sessions. It has built-in guardrails: a time limit (never forgetting to disable it again!), a battery floor (draining battery too much? let's get back to sleep), and a heating prevention! It automatically reads your mac internal temperature to stop the session if it is too hot. Thanks to these guardrails, I always do this before leaving the office: - start a 1hr SleepWalk session - activate the wifi hotspot on my phone - let my agent work while in my backpack - forget about it and not have to check if it's heating or not :) - disable the hotspot when I arrive home, knowing the agent will switch to my home wifi and continue until done There is also an integrated optional CLI and agent skill that allows Codex, Claude Code, and any other agent to start and stop a session themselves. It includes a 7-day free trial with no credit card. The one-time launch price is $9 with code LAUNCH, and the regular price is $12. Is this an issue you encountered? Do amphetamine and pmset fit your use cases, or do you value the bounded sessions + built-in guardrails more? Let me know if you're thinking of any other features you would need to adopt it!
