I'm a quantity surveyor. When I went looking for measurement software for a freelance project, everything I found was either subscription-based, hidden behind a "book a demo" wall, or just clunky to use. So I built my own in my spare time. A lot of software gets in the way. It was important to me that SJQS works with the user — optimising the core measuring workflow rather than interrupting it. Many existing tools have a convoluted setup process before you can even start measuring. What started as something good enough for my own use kept evolving — more features, more refinement — until I had something I genuinely believed others could benefit from. SJQS is the result: a focused, fast PDF takeoff tool with no subscription and no fluff.
