Every school potluck, volunteer shift and team dinner I've been part of ran through a sign-up site that showed ads to everyone, made people create accounts, or locked basic things like waitlists behind a paywall. Or it was a group chat where five people brought chips.
So I built the version I wanted:
• One link, works on any phone. Guests tap a slot and type their name. No app, no password.
• Slots close when full. Every sign-up is checked on the server in one step, so even two people tapping at the same second can't double-book.
• Automatic waitlist. When someone cancels, the next person moves up and gets an email.
• A reminder the day before, Google/Apple/Outlook calendar buttons, and CSV export.
• Group polls (yes / maybe / no) when you need to pick a date first.
• 16 ready-made templates: Thanksgiving potluck, volunteer shifts, parent-teacher conferences, snack schedules, meal trains, carpools and more.
• Private by design: sheets aren't indexed, emails are never shown publicly, nothing is sold.
