SignalGlow

Turn your phone into a real-world flirting signal

SignalGlow turns your phone screen into a real-world availability signal. Show green when you're open to being approached and red when you're not. Inspired by traffic-light parties, it helps people connect offline—without profiles, matching, or swiping.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built SignalGlow around a very simple question: What if technology helped people meet in real life instead of giving them another place to swipe? Dating and meeting new people increasingly happens behind a screen. SignalGlow deliberately goes in the opposite direction. Inspired by traffic-light parties, it turns your phone into a simple visual signal: 🟢 Available — I'm open to being approached 🔴 Not Available — not right now That's basically it. There are no profiles to create, no matching algorithm, no endless swiping and no need to start a conversation online before meeting someone. The idea is for SignalGlow to be used where people are already physically together — bars, cafés, parties, festivals, concerts, events or anywhere else where starting a conversation with a stranger can feel awkward. I wanted the app to remove one small but important uncertainty: “Would this person actually be comfortable if I approached them?” SignalGlow doesn't introduce people. It simply gives them a way to signal that they're open to being introduced. It's currently available on Android, and I'd especially love feedback from the Product Hunt community on: • Does the idea make sense immediately? • Where could you imagine using it? • What would make you comfortable — or uncomfortable — using something like this in public? Thanks for checking out SignalGlow.
