I built ShrinkPDF after running into the same wall most people eventually hit: a government portal, a university application, or a job posting asks for a PDF under 10MB, and your scanned document is 18MB. The usual fix is some free compressor online, except most of those have a catch. File size caps on the free tier, mandatory signup, watermarks on the output, and most importantly, your document gets uploaded to a server you know nothing about.
For a payslip, tax filing, or signed contract, that last part matters a lot. So ShrinkPDF processes everything locally in your browser using pdf-lib, an open source library. Your file never touches a server. There are 7 tools in total now, compress, merge, split, rotate, convert to images, images to PDF, and reorder pages, all free, no account required.
