Shotium started from a personal itch: every side project needs OG images, but every solution I tried was either a heavyweight design tool or a DIY headless Chrome setup that somehow ate an entire weekend — zombie processes, missing fonts, broken emoji, SSRF protection… the whole thing.
So I built the API I wanted to use myself.
📸 Screenshots Give Shotium a URL and get back a PNG, JPEG, or WebP. Full-page screenshots are supported, and results are cached for 24 hours.
🖼️ OG images Choose from 5 typed templates, all rendered in a real browser instead of a limited JSX renderer. Generate them at build time via the API, or use signed URLs for dynamic images.
🔗 Signed URLs Drop an HMAC-signed image URL directly into your img src. When the parameters change, the image regenerates automatically.
CDN edge hits are free and don’t count toward your render quota.
🤖 AI-agent friendly After creating an API key, there’s a “Copy AI setup prompt” button. Paste it into Cursor or Claude Code, and your coding agent can wire up the integration for you.
The docs also include llms.txt and a one-click “Copy page as Markdown” option.
💰 Simple pricing You get 100 free renders when you sign up — no credit card required.
After that, it’s $15/month for 2,000 renders.
And there are no surprise bills: if you hit your limit, requests simply return 429. Nothing gets auto-charged.
