Shortspan

Access Everything. Store Nothing. One CLI for everything.

Shortspan gives developers one CLI for accessing infrastructure and its operations. You can use it to connect to SSH servers, databases, and other infrastructure through simple commands instead of remembering credentials, hosts, tunnels, and connection steps entirely. All you have to do is configure everything once and get back to work and use it forever.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Faizan, the dev behind Shortspan. I built Shortspan because access kept turning into the same repetitive workflow I do daily: SSH into a server → figure out the database connection → set up a tunnel → enter credentials → and finally get to work. I wanted a simpler interface I for these workflows i do, so i started building Shortspan around one main idea: My infrastructures should be accessible without making me remember how everything is connected and all the credentials saved around differences sources like chat, notes, some credential manager i used a year ago or juggling around my pc and laptop, or my office setup and home setup. With Shortspan, you can do things like: - shortspan ssh production - shortspan db production Instead of manually managing all the hosts, ports, tunnels, credentials, and connection steps every time i have to do something. Shortspan is currently focused on: -> SSH access -> Database access (with Tunneling) -> SSH tunneling / bastions -> Infrastructure management -> AWS -> Kubernetes -> Runbooks -> Access permissions The CLI is the main use interface which does everything. The web dashboard is where you can configure and manage your infrastructure. I'm launching here because I want feedback from developers who actually deal with this every day. If youre to use it, what would you want Shortspan to handle for you? And if you try it, I'd genuinely love to hear what felt useful, confusing, or unnecessary. Open to all feedbacks <3 Thanks for checking it out 🙌
