I'm the maker of Shop Smart AI β and I built this out of pure frustration.
Every week I'd come home from the supermarket having forgotten half the list, overspent by Β£15, and with no idea where the money actually went. I'd tried basic list apps, spreadsheets, even expense trackers β but nothing connected the planning with the spending.
So I built Shop Smart AI over the past few months.
The bit I'm most proud of is the receipt scanner. You just photograph your grocery receipt β even if it's one of those absurdly long ones that doesn't fit in one shot β and the AI stitches the parts together and extracts every item, price, discount, and VAT automatically. No typing, no manual entry.
The Aisle Insights feature then turns those receipts into a spending dashboard so you can actually see: "I'm spending Β£40/month on dairy at Tesco but only Β£28 at Lidl for the same items."
It's free to use, works with all major UK supermarkets, and takes about 30 seconds to sign in and create your first list.
