I kept shipping Laravel apps and running into the same class of problems *after* deploy - a raw query that should've used bindings, debug mode left on in production, a missing index, an empty catch block quietly swallowing errors. Checks for all of these exist, but they're scattered across PHPStan config, old blog posts, and whatever you happen to remember that day. I wanted one command that runs the whole set and just tells me what to fix.
That's ShieldCI. It runs 155 checks across five areas - security, performance, reliability, code quality, and Laravel best practices - and gives you a report with the file, the line, and the recommendation. 73 of those are free and open source (MIT), so you can `composer require shieldci/laravel` and run it today without signing up for anything. Connect it to the dashboard, and it keeps the history of every run, tracks your score over time, and posts results on your pull requests through the GitHub App or GitLab CI. It only ever sends metadata - file paths, line numbers, results - never your source code.
