Shelfab
The fabulous, modern e-book manager for StoryGraph lovers
Shelfab is the modern, open-source alternative to Calibre, designed for readers who value aesthetics over bloat. While legacy tools feel like spreadsheets, Shelfab focuses on a sleek UI and deep StoryGraph integration. It treats your TSG lists as the source of truth while using intelligent metadata fabrication to find high-res covers and ISBNs. Our unique waterfall matching links your EPUBs even if filenames are messy, all while keeping your data 100% private and local to your machine.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Maarij, a Software Engineering student at ATU Galway. I built Shelfab because I love StoryGraph, but I hated how disconnected my local EPUB library felt from my reading lists.
Most e-book managers are either stuck in the Windows 95 era (Calibre) or try to force you into a corporate cloud ecosystem. Shelfab is my attempt at a 'Third Way': a tool that makes your digital shelf look as good as it feels to read.
Why StoryGraph-only?
By focusing exclusively on StoryGraph, I was able to build a deeper, more reliable sync without the bloat of dated APIs. It's built for the 'New Guard' of readers who value their data and their aesthetics.
What's inside:
- Automated Linking: Point it at a folder and let the logic match your books.
- Beautiful Covers: No more blurry, low-res, ugly thumbnails.
- Open Source: The code is public and transparent
I'd love to hear your thoughts! Is there a specific feature you'd love to see integrated next?
Happy reading!
