Captures crack squares, repeated damage can turn them into Abysses, and those gaps change how pieces move and attack. Rooks, bishops, and queens must navigate around collapsed terrain, while knights can leap over it. Castling, en passant, and promotion still work.
Thanks for checking out Shattered Chess! I wanted to make a chess variant that keeps the familiar rules but changes the board itself as the game progresses. The idea was to create something that feels tactical, strange, and still very much like chess.
