ShareNod

Send files device-to-device, or share a link you control

Move files between any two devices with a six-digit code, at your network's own speed. Or store one behind a link with a password, a download limit and a full log — encrypted in your browser before it ever leaves, if you turn that on.

Most file-sharing tools default to one model: upload everything to a server, generate a link, hope the provider never looks at what's inside. ShareNod treats that as optional, not assumed. Two devices on the same network can exchange a file directly over WebRTC using a six-digit code — no size limit, nothing touches a server in between. For asynchronous sharing, a stored file sits behind a link with its own password, download cap and expiry, set per link, plus a log of what's happened to it. Turn on encryption and uploads are scrambled client-side before they leave your browser. The key is generated server-side once, emailed to you, and never stored after that — so it's not a policy promise, it's just not there to hand over. There's also live shared notes with real-time cursors, searchable unless you encrypt a specific one. Everything's free right now. I'd like to hear where the encryption setup is confusing, since that's the part most people skip past without reading.

Who hunted ShareNod?

ShareNod was hunted by Amit Karn. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
