SensaAI

A pocket refuge for the days you can't hold yourself

Built by a cancer survivor, SensaAI is a contemplative companion: a guide that listens and asks better questions, one Buddhist teaching a day, and a private place to keep what resonates. No streaks, no notifications, no guilt.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Francisco Hidalgo, the solo developer behind SensaAI. In 2014 I was diagnosed with a bilobular thymoma, a rare tumor of the thymus. The pathology came back as type C: thymic carcinoma, the most aggressive kind. What followed was more than two years of treatment, and there was a long stretch where my doctors and I were not talking about "after." I came very close to not being here to write this. Medicine took care of my body. Nothing was taking care of my mind. Lying awake at night with a body I no longer controlled, I found Buddhist philosophy, not as a religion at first, but as a way to sit with impermanence and fear without being swallowed by them. Anicca, non-attachment, radical acceptance of the present moment. It didn't cure anything. It gave me a floor while everything else moved. Years later I kept hitting the same wall looking for tools: either corporate wellness products optimized for retention (streaks, push notifications, the small daily guilt of breaking a chain), or dense translated texts with no way in at 3 a.m. So I built the thing I wish I'd had. SensaAI is three things, deliberately small: 🪷 A daily teaching: one short contemplative idea per day, distilled from Buddhist philosophy. No feed, no infinite scroll, no catching up. 💬 A guide you can talk to: a conversational companion, designed to listen without judgment and ask reflective questions rooted in Buddhist thought. Think Socratic mirror, not guru, not therapist. It asks questions; it doesn't hand down truths. The teachings themselves are curated by a human (me), not generated. 🔒 A private place: somewhere to keep what resonates, organized in folders. What it is not: a replacement for medical or psychological care. If you're in crisis, please reach out to a professional. The app tells you the same. One clarification: this is not Sensa Health (the CBT subscription app from Kilo Health). Different product, different people, different philosophy. There are no streaks. No notifications pulling you back. If you don't open it for three weeks, that's fine, that's rather the point. As an indie developer, your feedback is everything. I'd love to hear: 1. Does the pace of one teaching a day feel right, or would you want more? 2. Is the private journal intuitive, or does something get in the way? 3. Does free, $8.99/month, $89.99/year feel fair compared to the big meditation apps? I'll be here all day answering every single comment. Thank you for reading this far. Francisco Hidalgo

Who hunted SensaAI?

SensaAI was hunted by Francisco Jesús Hidalgo González. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
