Hey Product Hunt! I'm Ansh, and I built SendKey out of mild despair. I asked a developer for an API key and it landed in my Discord DMs. I asked for a config and a whole .env arrived over email. Someone once sent me their login password on WhatsApp at 11 PM. Every one of those messages is still up there, synced to every device, searchable forever. SendKey replaces that habit with a link. Paste the secret, get a URL, drop it in the same chat you were already using. The first open reveals it and destroys it. The second open gets a 404. The part I care most about: the server cannot read anything. Encryption happens in your browser, and the key travels after the # in the link, which is the one part of a URL browsers never send to any server. A breach of my database would yield unreadable blobs. This is enforced by tests that fail the build if the key ever appears in a request. What's in it: • Text secrets, files up to 8 MB, and ask links for receiving secrets safely • Live receipts: your tab tells you the moment your link was opened • Expiry dials (1 hour to 7 days) and view counts (1 to 5), optional passphrase • A CLI and an open HTTP API, same crypto as the site • sendkey.xyz/numbers: public counters, because "no analytics" should be checkable • One Go binary, zero dependencies, MIT licensed, self-hostable Honest limits: it does not protect you if the recipient's device is compromised, and it cannot stop the person you sent it to from copying it.
