Selftalk
Kind words on your Mac screen, then they fade away
Selftalk shows one short, believable affirmation over whatever you're doing, for about 3 seconds, every few minutes. Pick goals, a voice (formal, casual, witty or meme) and one of 6 languages. Pauses when you share your screen. Free for Mac.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Yossi. I like the idea of affirmations, but sticky notes and phone apps never worked for me: I stopped seeing them after a day. So I built Selftalk, which puts one kind line on my Mac screen for a few seconds while I work, then gets out of the way.
What makes it different:
• Believable lines, not hype. Research says "I'm becoming bolder every day" helps and "I am perfect" can backfire, so the lines are written that way.
• Your voice: Formal, Casual, Witty or Meme, and "I" or "You" (talking to yourself as "you" helps under stress).
• Six languages written by hand, not translated word for word: English, Hebrew, Spanish, Chinese, Hindi and Arabic (right to left where needed).
• Calm by default: a slow fade, never more often than every 10 seconds, and it pauses during screen sharing and calls.
• Private: no account, your own lines and photos stay on your Mac.
All 8 goals are free, and the first week unlocks everything. It's an early version, so macOS asks you to click "Open Anyway" the first time.
What would you want it to say to you?
