Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Igor, the maker behind seelect. Two things came together for this one. First — I've always been fascinated by AR. Not the gimmicky kind, but the moments where it actually lets you do something physical you couldn't before. Second — my girlfriend has a drawer of nail polishes, and she'd routinely spend 20+ minutes in front of it trying to picture which shade she'd actually want on her hands that day. Swatch caps lie. Photos lie. The only honest answer is to paint it on your hand — but that's the one test you can't run without committing to a color you might not even like. The idea was simple: let her see the polish on her own hand before she picks one. See, then select. That's literally where the name came from — see + select = seelect. I looked at what already existed. Most try-on apps fall into two camps: – Brand-locked apps — only ~30 shades from one cosmetics company. You can't try arbitrary colors. – AI photo generators — upload a hand photo, wait, get a weird AI-rendered result that doesn't react to how light actually hits the polish. Neither felt like trying on polish. I wanted what you get in a salon: paint, look, decide. Live. So I built that. seelect paints your actual live camera feed in real-time AR — per finger, any color, on-device. No photo upload, no AI guesswork, no signup. The bit I personally love: you can paint each finger a different color independently. Sounds gimmicky until you're actually deciding between two shades — putting them side-by-side on the same hand is a test no other app lets you do. We're in TestFlight beta — small weekly batches, free, no signup wall. Drop your email at seelect.io if you want an invite. Two questions for PH: 1. What makes you bounce off a try-on app — accuracy, color selection, friction? 2. For other AR makers — what's been the hardest part of getting AR to feel useful, not gimmicky? Appreciate any feedback 🙏
