Sector Collector

The outdoor mobile game where every step earns new points

Sector Collector turns walks and bike rides into a map exploration game—like geocaching or turfing, but built on a grid of ~100×100m sectors instead of hidden caches or fixed zones. What stands out: a Largest Square mechanic scoring size cubed for connected areas, daily Golden Sectors for bonus points, streak scoring. Compete on global/weekly leaderboards or opt in to let others spectate your progress.

Hey everyone! 👋 I've always loved geocaching and turfing—there's something addictive about turning ordinary walks into a reason to explore. I wanted to build something that captured that same feeling but made it easier to jump into anywhere, without needing pre-placed caches or defined zones. That's how Sector Collector came about: the whole world is divided into a grid of small sectors, so every walk or bike ride, wherever you are, becomes a chance to expand your map and collect something new. The approach evolved a lot along the way. What started as a simple "enter an area, get a point" idea grew into a full scoring system—Golden Sectors for daily bonus challenges, a Largest Square mechanic that rewards filling in your map rather than just wandering, and streaks to encourage getting out regularly. Leaderboards and spectating came later, once I realized the exploration itself was more fun when you could compare progress with others. Would love to hear your thoughts—especially if you enjoy gamified ways to get outside more!
