Second Brain
The second brain that writes itself and build your tools
A desktop app over a folder of markdown files. Ask it something, it reads your Slack, mail and meetings, answers with a real interface instead of a wall of text, and files what matters as a linked note. Ask twice and it builds you a tool for it. Free, local.
Hey Product Hunt,
I built this for myself first. I was pasting the same context into a chat window every morning. Who my clients are, what we decided last week, why we decided it. It got old fast.
Second Brain is a desktop app over a folder of markdown files. You ask it something, it reads your Slack, your email, your meeting transcripts, and it answers with an actual interface instead of a wall of text. A chart when the answer has numbers in it, a board when it has tasks, a comparison when you're weighing two things. Then it writes down whatever was worth keeping as a linked note on your disk, without being asked.
The part I did not plan for: ask it for the same kind of thing twice and it builds you a small panel for it. Your own tiny app inside the app, with its own agent in it. I have a few of those now and I never wrote a line of code for any of them.
A month in it does things I could not have bought, and not because I designed them. They just piled up.
It's free and the code is on GitHub. Notes are plain markdown, so Obsidian and git work on the same folder and you can walk away with everything whenever you want.
It's early and rough and I'd genuinely like to know what breaks for you. I'll be in the comments all day.
