Scroll Patrol

Limit scrolling sessions

Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I need social media for work. Unfortunately, opening Instagram to do my job also has a way of turning into 25 minutes of scrolling.

I tried other screen time apps, but kept disabling or deleting them when they got in the way. So I built Scroll Patrol with a yeti named Brruce to keep me in check.

Here’s how it works:

  • Set a limit for each visit. Choose your apps and how long you want to scroll. Each time you open one, Brruce lets you scroll until your time is up, then blocks it.

  • Block apps outright when you need to focus.

  • Toggle Patrol on or off when you need more flexibility. You can set this as a control so you can toggle it on / off like you do the flashlight feature.

You’re still in control, so yes, it takes some self-discipline. But having a stopping point each time I open an app has helped me a ton over the last few weeks.

I’d love for you to try it and tell me what works, or what annoys you. If you’ve tried screen time apps before, what made you stop using them?

Thanks for checking it out!

Who hunted Scroll Patrol?

Scroll Patrol was hunted by Chris. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
