ScreenNote
Stop explaining screenshots to your AI. Snip, note, done.
You paste a screenshot into your AI, then waste a minute typing what it's even looking at. ScreenNote deletes that step. Snip any region, type one line, and it saves a bundle your AI reads directly: the note baked into the PNG metadata, a Markdown sidecar, and a rolling index.md you point Claude Code at. No copy-paste, no re-explaining, no tokens wasted on context the image already carries. 100% offline, no account, no telemetry. Free core; one-time $9.99 Pro. No subscription.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built ScreenNote to fix one small thing that annoyed me every single day: I'd paste a screenshot into Claude, then immediately type a paragraph explaining what it was even looking at — "this is the error, ignore the sidebar," over and over. Do that 30+ times a day and it's real time gone, plus tokens spent describing context the image already contained.
So I made the screenshot describe itself. You snip a region, type one line, and ScreenNote bakes the note into the PNG's metadata + a .md sidecar + a rolling index.md. Then you just point Claude Code at the folder and it reads the image AND the context — no re-explaining.
The other thing I cared about: privacy. It's 100% offline — no account, no cloud, no telemetry. The app has no network client of its own; the only network activity is the Windows Store license check, handled by Windows. Your screen never leaves your machine.
Free for the core loop. Pro is a one-time $9.99 (recording, video editor, markup, all capture modes) — no subscription, because I hate subscriptions too.

Would genuinely love feedback

Who hunted ScreenNote?
ScreenNote was hunted by MAZMS. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
