SchemaVision: AI search data in Shopify
Generate structured data for AI to understand your products
Google and AI search engines read structured data, not images, to understand what a store sells. SchemaVision generates Schema org Product data for your catalog. It pulls fields like brand, price, availability, SKU, and GTIN from Shopify automatically. For missing descriptive fields, it reads the product photo to infer color, material, and pattern, and scores each by confidence so you review anything uncertain before it goes live. Structured data is added via a theme app embed and kept in sync.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
Second launch from me this month - I'm Ivan, building small AI-powered Shopify
tools solo.
This one came directly out of building the first one (AltVision, alt-text for
product images). While digging into how AI search actually reads a Shopify store,
I kept bumping into the same fact: Google and tools like ChatGPT don't really
"see" your product photos. They read structured data - Schema.org, JSON-LD - to
understand what you're actually selling. Price, brand, material, color, all of it.
And most Shopify themes fill in maybe half of that. Brand, price, availability -
sure, that's easy, it's already in your product data. But material? Color?
Pattern? Nobody's typing that into a hidden field manually, so it just stays
blank. Which means a chunk of your catalog is quietly invisible to rich results
in Google, and to AI search entirely.
So SchemaVision does the boring part automatically - pulls what Shopify already
knows (brand, price, SKU, GTIN) straight in, no AI needed there. Then for the
descriptive stuff that's actually missing, it looks at the product photo itself
and fills in what it can see, with a confidence score attached - same philosophy
as AltVision. If it's not sure, it doesn't guess silently, it waits for you.
Honestly the trickiest part wasn't the AI piece - it was making sure the
structured data doesn't clash with whatever your theme already outputs, and
keeping price/stock synced automatically so it never goes stale. That's the part
that took the most iterations to get right.
Curious what you think, especially if you've ever run your store through Google's
Rich Results Test and been surprised by what's missing.
🙏
