ScanHarbor: Private Scanner

Private document scanner with on-device AI

ScanHarbor scans, stores, searches, and exports documents on Android without sending them to the cloud. Scans are encrypted at rest, semantic search runs on-device, and there’s no account, ads, analytics, or internet permission.

Hey Product Hunt, I’m Steve from Richfield Labs. I built ScanHarbor because document scanners have drifted in a weird direction: cloud accounts, tracking, ads, subscriptions, and sensitive paperwork sitting on someone else’s server. That felt especially wrong for the documents people actually scan: tax forms, medical records, IDs, insurance cards, legal paperwork, and financial statements. ScanHarbor is a private Android document scanner. It scans to PDF, encrypts scans at rest, supports biometric app lock, and runs semantic search on-device so you can find documents by meaning, not just exact keywords. No account, no ads, no analytics, and the app does not request internet permission. The Pro tier unlocks heavier workflows: batch scanning, searchable PDF export, folders, gallery import, merging/splitting, password-protected PDFs, encrypted vault backup/restore, and expiry reminders. I’d love feedback from anyone who scans sensitive documents, especially around trust signals, export workflows, and what would make you comfortable replacing your current scanner.
