I built Scan Instant because of a personal frustration. I needed ongoing MRI reviews and every time I went to a radiologist or orthopedic doctor for a second opinion, they'd say "we don't have the software to open this".
So I went from zero coding knowledge to building a browser-based MRI viewer in under two weeks using vibe coding. No install. No account. Just drag your DICOM or NIfTI files and they open, on your phone, on any computer.
It already handles things some dedicated apps don't — like DICOM files without extensions, ZIP batch uploads of full study folders, and a side-by-side compare mode with a difference heatmap.
Primary users: doctors who need to open scans quickly without proprietary software. Secondary: patients who want to see and understand their own imaging before or after appointments.
