Hey PH 👋 I’m the maker of Scam Catcher. This started with a very ordinary problem: after enough breach fallout and spam waves, unknown calls stopped feeling random. I was ignoring everything and still wondering whether I was missing real calls. So I built the tool I wanted right before tapping “call back.” Scam Catcher checks any US number in seconds and shows: • scam risk • likely scam type • confidence score • supporting signals from FCC / CFPB complaint data, and community reports A few things mattered to me from day one: • no login • free to use • fast enough for the moment an unknown number hits your phone • honest about uncertainty: this is a risk check, not a government ruling I used AI-assisted tooling to build the first version quickly, then tightened the product around one question: Should I call this number back? I’d especially love feedback on two things: 1. Does the confidence score feel intuitive and trustworthy? 2. What extra signal would you want before acting on a verdict? If scam or impersonation calls are a real problem for you, drop the use case that annoys you most. I’ll be here all day and I’m happy to ship improvements from the comment
