Hey PH community! 👋 I'm Shandrew, the solo creator behind Sandy Studio.
The inspiration: I streamed, and my chat was often dead or repetitive. I couldn't reply to everyone while gaming — and I noticed most chat bots just repeat commands; they never hold a conversation. I kept thinking: what if my channel had a co-host that could be there for every single viewer?
The problem I wanted to solve: streamers want to entertain their chat, but one human can only do so much. I wanted a co-host that reads the chat, actually understands it, and answers naturally — with personality and a voice, not like a robot.
How the approach evolved: I started by connecting three things that already work well — Twitch/Kick for chat, LLMs (Gemini/OpenRouter) as the brain, and VTube Studio for the avatar. Every message becomes a reaction; every word syncs with lip movement. But users kept telling me the real magic wasn't the tech — it was that Sandy felt like a real co-host, not a utility. So I shifted the whole product around that: you pick the model, the voice and the personality, and Sandy handles the rest.
