SailBoard
A whiteboard for sailing's rules, tactics and protests
A whiteboard for the Racing Rules of Sailing. Rebuild any incident on a boat-length grid, animate it, and coach the rules from an animated case library. Ask the AI umpire who had right of way, then turn it into a protest PDF or a replay you hand the jury.
Hi PH 👋
I'm not a coach — I'm a sailing parent. Watching my kid try to learn the racing rules from a rulebook written for adults is what started this.
SailBoard is the tool I wanted: you rebuild a situation on a grid where one square is one boat length, press play, and the boats act out the rule instead of someone reciting it. Pause at the overlap, ask who has to keep clear, run it on. There's an animated case library, an AI umpire that reads your diagram and explains right of way, and for actual protests you can export a PDF or share a replay link for the committee.
Free to try in the browser. Built on weekends, by the team behind Sail Dash.
Would love feedback from anyone who races, coaches, or sits on protest committees.

Who hunted SailBoard?
SailBoard was hunted by Alex Hermosillo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
