Safeship

API monitoring your AI editor sets up and queries fr you

Safeship checks that your endpoints answer, and that what they answer is correct. Instead of pinging for a status code, it validates the JSON body against a schema you describe once, so an endpoint returning 200 with a null field or an empty array counts as a failure. It ships an MCP server, so your AI editor does the setup. Point Claude Code or Cursor at an API and ask it to monitor it. Billed per check performed, not per monitor. Free up to 5,000 checks a month, then EUR 3.

I built this after the third time I found out about an outage from a user rather than from my monitoring. Each time, the endpoint was returning 200 the whole way through, and the data behind it was wrong. What I wanted was a check that knows what a correct answer looks like, and a way to set it up that does not involve opening a dashboard and filling a form every time I ship an endpoint. That second part is why it runs over MCP: the setup happens in the editor, in the same breath as the code. It deliberately does not do log management, on-call scheduling or real user monitoring. If you need those, Better Stack and Pingdom are the honest answers, and there is a comparison of ten tools including where Safeship is the wrong choice: https://safeship.app/alternatives Happy to answer anything here today.

Who hunted Safeship?

Safeship was hunted by Mael Torset. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
