Runo

Run faster, longer, injury-free with a beat

Runo turns pace into rhythm. Set your cadence (120-220 SPM), put in your earbuds, and run to the beat. No more pace drift. Why cadence matters: • Reduces impact forces and injury risk • Improves running economy by up to 10% • Maintains form when fatigue hits What's new: • Apple Watch haptic beats (no headphones needed) • Social features: friends & leaderboards • Strava sync • Treadmill mode Built by marathon runners tired of inconsistent pacing. 4.7★ on App Store | 10,000+ runners

Hi Product Hunt! I’m super excited to share something we built: Runo, a metronome app made just for runners, by runners. I’ve run a couple of half marathons (nothing pro, just for fun) and I noticed that every time I listened to podcasts or audiobooks, my pace would totally fall apart. I went down a Reddit rabbit hole and found people recommending running with a metronome to keep cadence. Problem was, all the metronome apps were built for musicians, not runners. So we made Runo. It’s a simple, minimal app that lets you set your steps per minute (SPM) and runs quietly in the background while you listen to whatever you want — podcasts, audiobooks, music. It keeps you in rhythm without being annoying or distracting. We’ve been using it ourselves and it really helps with pacing, form, and just feeling more in control during runs. If you're into running, beginner or not, would love for you to give it a try and tell us what you think. Happy to answer any questions in the comments!
