Hey Hunters! Watching a movie with someone over Discord usually means staring at a pixelated, stuttering screen. And tools like Syncplay require everyone to download massive media files beforehand. I built Rtube Watch Party to fix this. It’s a lightweight extension that syncs native web players (YouTube, Netflix, Apple TV, etc.) directly via WebSockets. It can also be activated on third-party sites 🏴☠️. No screen sharing, no video compression — just the original HD quality perfectly synced for everyone in the room. In the 1.5.2 update, I overhauled the backend architecture to eliminate phantom lobbies and fixed a major SPA memory leak on sites like YouTube. It runs natively on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox (and an official release for the Opera browser is coming very soon!).
