I built Roadside Strange because I’ve always loved paranormal investigating, strange history, cryptids, UFO stories, and finding the odd places you’d never know were there unless someone told you about them. The problem was that the information was scattered everywhere. You might find a haunted location on one site, a cryptid report somewhere else, or a strange local story buried in an old article, but there wasn’t one simple way to open an app and see what was actually around you. At first, Roadside Strange was mainly about putting those stories on a map. But while building and testing it, the idea kept growing. I realized the locations had to be genuinely useful, not just vague pins, so I started focusing heavily on real, drivable destinations and better directions. Then came road trips, case files, community features, and most recently Strange Drive, which tells you the strange stories around you while you travel. The goal stayed the same the whole time: make exploring weird places easier, more fun, and something people can actually use in the real world.
