Rival Shark

Competitor, industry, and local market intel in minutes

Most businesses discover a competitor's move after it has already cost them. Rival Shark turns competitor, industry, and local market research into clear reports you can act on in minutes. See what changed, where your category is moving, how saturated your market is, and who leads it. Every finding includes what it means, what to do next, and how quickly to act. Run reports on demand or schedule competitor monitoring without an analyst team or a months-long research project.

Hey Product Hunt, Catherine here. I spent most of my career at big companies, including executive roles at a couple of Fortune 100s. I assumed competitive intelligence was mainly a small-business problem. It isn't. Even with real budgets and research teams, the information I needed was often expensive, fragmented, and months out of date by the time it reached the people making decisions. If that is the experience inside a Fortune 100, a 20-person business is usually left with browser tabs and a spreadsheet nobody has updated since March. That is why I built Rival Shark: to give businesses of any size a current view of their competitive landscape and a clear answer to what to do next. Rival Shark offers three types of intelligence: Competitor Intelligence: tracks a specific company, identifies what changed, and can run automatically on a schedule. Industry Intelligence: shows where a category is moving and the trends shaping it. Local Market Intelligence: scores market saturation from 0 to 100, maps competitor density, and identifies the businesses leading the market. The hardest part was making the research useful after someone read it. Early versions produced good analysis, but not enough action. Now every finding closes with a recommended next step and a clear level of urgency. Those actions collect in an Action Center you can work through like a queue. That change turned Rival Shark from something people read once into something they can open on Monday morning to decide where the week goes. I'd especially value feedback from anyone who has purchased or used competitive research: what did you need from it that you didn't get? You can also run a local saturation report for your ZIP code. I'd like to know whether the score reflects what you see happening in your market. For the Product Hunt community, PRODUCTHUNT26 gives you 20% off any monthly or annual plan. Your rate stays locked for as long as your subscription remains active. The offer ends Sunday, August 9. I'll be here throughout the day answering questions and hearing your feedback.
