Hi Product Hunt — I'm Pavel, the maker.
In August 2022 my farm in the Serra da Estrela mountains in Portugal burned in a wildfire larger than the city of Lisbon. I got no personal warning, and the information I needed — in English — didn't exist. I then spent two years working alongside volunteer firefighters and rural communities, watching the same gap reopen every summer.
Riska is what I wish had existed. It pulls verified data from Portugal's official sources (civil protection, the weather institute, the forest authority) and EU/NASA satellites into one calm view, and adds the two things the official channels don't: personal, place‑based alerts ("is this fire near somewhere I care about?") and bilingual prepare/recover guides in Portuguese and English. Every fact shows its source and timestamp. It's free for the safety features, no ads, and it's a supplementary tool — in an emergency, always call 112.
