Hi Product Hunt 👋
I started building rishocart because I was looking for a shopping cart / e-commerce application that focused only on digital products. I wanted something simple, user-friendly and self-hosted, without all the functionality designed for physical products that I simply did not need.
At the same time, I had a fairly specific list of requirements: Stripe payments, secure downloads, customer accounts, invoices, VAT and EU OSS support, license keys, multilingual content and a straightforward admin area.
I tried to find an existing solution that matched this combination without becoming unnecessarily complex, but I could not find one that really fit the way I wanted to work. So I decided to build my own.
That became rishocart — a lightweight PHP shopping cart focused specifically on scripts, plugins, apps, PDFs and other downloadable products.
My goal is to keep it simple and practical rather than turn it into another general-purpose e-commerce platform.
The core is free, self-hosted and designed to work without Composer, SSH access or external CDN dependencies for the core interface.
I’d really appreciate feedback from people who sell digital products or run self-hosted stores — especially on what you feel is missing, unnecessary or could be made simpler.
