Hey everyone! I built Riparo because my significant other and I kept running into the same problem: conversations about something bothering one of us would quickly turn into both of us defending ourselves instead of actually listening.
I came across the Gottman Method, which is a research-backed approach to couples communication. The core idea is simple: before you respond, reflect back what your partner said. It sounds easy, but in practice it is really hard to do without structure.
So I built Riparo to provide that structure. One person speaks, the other listens and mirrors back what they heard, then you switch. No timers, no pressure, just a simple rhythm that keeps the conversation from going off the rails.
The app is intentionally minimal. No accounts, no cloud, no analytics. Everything stays on your device. I wanted it to feel like a quiet space you and your partner can step into when you need to really hear each other.
