Built this daily Riddle Game that essentially follows the NYT model. Attached below between the dashes is an example of the standard scorecard you would share with friends. -- RIDDL #580 993 pts 🟩 ⏱ 0:07 · 1/6 tries playriddl.com -- I built the original a few months ago and have been slowly tinkering with it during that time. It now has the ability to share your score with friends. The score is based on timing, guesses, and how many hints were used. Best possible score is 1000. Recently, I've been tinkering with it to make sure it recognizes answers if they are slightly misspelled or follow the right idea. I adopted the Levenshtein distance which is a standard algorithm that counts how many letter changes are needed to get from one word to another. I also added a function that allows users to submit their own ideas for riddles to get the chance to see their own riddle reflected in the future! I used some online resources such as Canva to help me make the logo and make it match the color scheme I coded into my website. I've always liked Riddles and the idea behind being able to be a sort of detective to solve them. I picture this as a Wordle-adjacent game that follows the NYT or LinkedIn Game model for only playing once Daily and the puzzles getting more difficult throughout the week
