Rhei

Time told through geometry and motion

Rhei is a gallery of clock faces where time is encoded purely through shape and motion — no numerals, no hands, no labels. 30+ designs across four categories: 6-hour, 12-hour, 24-hour, and calendar. Each uses a different visual language — rings, arcs, grids, bars, falling shapes. All clocks run live in the browser. A time scrubber lets you drag through a full day to see how each design reads at any moment. Built with vanilla JS/Canvas. One lifetime price, no subscription.

I've been fascinated by the idea that time doesn't need numbers to be readable — that pure geometry and motion can carry the same information. Rhei started as a personal experiment and grew into 30+ distinct clock designs. Each one explores a different visual language: rings, arcs, grids, bars, falling shapes. No numerals anywhere. The time scrubber on the site lets you drag through a full day to test how intuitively each design reads. Some surprise you. Would love to hear which designs communicate time clearly to you — and which ones just look nice without being readable.

Who hunted Rhei?

Rhei was hunted by Thomas Abraham. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
