I was looking for an app to track my game collection and couldn't find anything that felt right. The few options out there were dated, with little attention to design or UX. So I decided to build one for myself. Something that looked good and was actually enjoyable to use. After a while I realized I probably wasn't the only one who wanted a polished retro collecting app that wasn't covered in ads. I've been building apps for other people for 20 years. This is the first one I made for myself. It's been a blast.

Who hunted Retrodex?

Retrodex was hunted by Addam Hardy. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
