I built Resume Optimizer because I was frustrated.
THE PROBLEM:
I applied to 50+ jobs with what I thought was a strong resume. Got zero callbacks. Found out later that 90% of resumes fail at the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) stage—automated screening—before humans ever see them.
MY INSPIRATION:
As a developer, I realized I could solve this. I could build a tool that shows job seekers exactly why they're getting rejected and how to fix it. Not with keyword stuffing, but naturally.
HOW MY APPROACH EVOLVED:
- Week 1: Started with just ATS scoring
- Week 2: Added keyword extraction + gap analysis
- Week 3: Built AI-powered suggestions to naturally add missing keywords
